About Us - Wollongong Lions Club
Lions Clubs are part of community life, in the cities and in the country. Clubs are easily identified by their distinctive Logo, the trademark of the Association, and the 'We Serve'; motto seen on road signs throughout the country. Membership is open to all people of the community in good standing.
Wollongong Lions Club has been serving the Wollongong community for over fifty years. The club was chartered in March 1957
Most of the money raised goes back into the community, either directly or indirectly through National and International Projects.
Our major ongoing projects include running the Driver Reviver site at Mt Ousley every long weekend during the year and weekend during January. We assist the Wollongong Botanic Gardens for a week each school holidays providing a sausage sizzle for the families who attend. The club has been involved with Lions Youth of The Year for many years, with three schools participating at club level.
In 2011 the Club planted over 1000 trees. The day was opened by the Lord Mayor (here with his partner) and the Wollongong Lions Club President and Lions District 201N2 District Governor Geoff Hobart
